Trashy Roots Studio

I knew I wanted to be a hairstylist from the time I was 12 years old. What started as a childhood dream became my career in 2001 when I attended the Carsten Aveda Institute in Tempe, Arizona. In September 2007, I took a chance and opened Trashy Roots Salon.

In 2013, I signed up for a curly hair class on a whim—and it completely changed the direction of my career. I fell in love with textured hair and helping clients embrace their natural curls. Today, I’m certified in Rezo, DevaCurl, and Ouidad cutting techniques, and curls have truly become my passion.

Throughout my career, I’ve also had the opportunity to educate other stylists, partnering with salons and beauty schools to teach advanced techniques, product knowledge, and business development. Sharing what I’ve learned has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

In 2018, I transitioned to Trashy Roots Studio, creating a more intimate, personalized experience where I could focus on what matters most—building genuine relationships with my clients while maintaining a healthy balance with my family.

I’ve always loved new adventures, and after becoming an empty nester in 2023, I embraced a new chapter by relocating from Texas to North Carolina. Starting fresh has been exciting, and I’m so grateful to continue doing what I love in a new community.
